Victorian Small Business Commissioner Judy O’Connell will be in Horsham on Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 April to discuss the role of the commission, and to find out more about issues small businesses in the region are facing.
The Commissioner will be meeting with a variety of organisations during her two days in Horsham. She will meet with local councils and many small business owners and traders at the Wimmera Development Association Meeting and Business Horsham meeting.
The Commissioner will also be presenting at the Horsham Breakfast Event hosted by the Horsham Rural City Council for local small businesses from 7:15am to 8:30am, Tuesday 11 April at the Royal Hotel. Tickets can be booked via Eventbrite.
According to Ms O’Connell, the breakfast will be an opportunity for local businesses to network, learn about government support, and ask questions.
“I’m looking forward to hearing the issues that are impacting small business in the Wimmera region,” Ms O’Connell said.
“It’s important for me to visit regional areas as the issues are often very different to a city based business.”
“I am eager to engage with the small business community, discuss the role of the VSBC and explain what I can do to help.”
The VSBC was established to create a level playing field for small business. Its functions include advocating on behalf of small business and a dispute resolution service for resolving business-to-business and business-to-government disputes.
Tickets can be booked for the event via Eventbrite or by contacting the Wimmera Business Centre on 53810300.
The VSBC can be contacted by calling 13 VSBC (13 8722) or visit www.vsbc.vic.gov.au
