Translated rent relief advice for small business tenants and landlords: now available

Victoria’s commercial tenants and landlords can now access our latest guidance on rent relief in Simplified Chinese, Arabic and Vietnamese.

These new fact sheets walk through the support we’re providing under the Victorian Government’s Commercial Tenancy Relief Scheme (the Scheme), which aims to ease financial hardship faced by tenants and landlords as a result of coronavirus (COVID-19).

Our fact sheets include:

  • what tenants need to do as early as possible if they want to access rent relief under the Scheme, now extended until 28 March 2021
  • access to a letter that tenants can use to ask for rent relief – they just need to fill in the parts highlighted in yellow
  • a scenario showing what fair negotiations can look like
  • how our team can help resolve disputes over rent – we can give advice early on and if needed, bring the landlord and tenant together with an independent mediator and interpreter to guide them in reaching an agreement at no cost.

If a commercial tenant or landlord would like to speak with us in their language, they can call us through the Translating and Interpreting Service.
