The Victorian Small Business Commissioner’s 2014-15 Annual Report was tabled in Parliament on 6 October 2015.
The report covers the first full year of amendments to the Small Business Commissioner Act 2003 (SBC Act), which has led to significant growth in demand for VSBC services (total application volumes have increased by over seven per cent). The report also outlines the issuing of certificates under the SBC Act when parties “unreasonably refuse” to engage in the alternative dispute resolution process.
The Annual Report also details the Advisory Opinion handed down by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) regarding Essential Safety Measures.
