Drouin small business owners will be encouraged to grow their businesses together at a free breakfast on Friday 4 May.

The Drouin ‘Grow Your Business, Together’ event follows similar breakfasts held in Warragul and Trafalgar recently and aims to provide business owners and operators with practical tips to help their businesses thrive.

Victorian Small Business Commissioner, Judy O’Connell will speak at the Drouin breakfast and will be joined by social media expert Erika McInerney, who will share advice for connecting with customers through social media.

According to Ms O’Connell, the breakfast will be an opportunity for Drouin-based businesses to network, learn strategies to boost their success, and hear about the value of a combined business voice for their town.

“We have been blown away with the response to our events so far, with 130 people attending the Warragul breakfast and 80 registered at the Trafalgar event this week,” Ms O’Connell said.

“We look forward to seeing similar numbers in Drouin as there is an obvious thirst for small business networking and development opportunities in Gippsland.”

Ms O’Connell said there was already a strong business voice across Baw Baw Shire and continuing to build on this was important for a thriving business community.

The Drouin breakfast at Drouin Golf and Country Club will be followed by a free information pop-up centre in Memorial Park, Drouin, staffed by representatives from a wide range of local, state and federal government agencies.

“The pop-up information centre will provide business owners with the chance to chat one-on-one with agency representatives who can provide advice and answer questions on the spot,” Ms O’Connell said.

“If people want to know more about starting a business, employing staff, reducing energy bills, understanding their rebate entitlements, or anything else to do with running a business, then the pop-up information centre is the place to go.”

Drouin’s free ‘Grow Your Business, Together’ breakfast will be held at Drouin Golf and Country Club on Friday 4 May from 7:15am for a 7:30am start, through to 9am.

The pop-up information centre will be held at Memorial Park, Princes Way, Drouin on Friday 4 May from 10am-1pm. A free sausage sizzle will be provided to business representatives that attend.
