The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has today released a draft report for the new car retailing industry market study. The draft report is available on the ACCC’s website. A media release is available here.
The draft report details the ACCC’s initial findings and recommendations in relation to a number of issues, including:
- consumer guarantees
- access to technical information to repair and service new cars
- fuel consumption and emissions.
Submissions on the draft report are due 7 September 2017. The ACCC expects to release a final report in late 2017.
